What is Perakuan Pematuhan Standard (“PPS”)?
Perakuan Pematuhan Standard or more commonly referred as “PPS”, is a Certificate of Standard Compliance issued by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, in accordance with Section 33C(1) of the CIDB Act 520. This certification serves as official proof that construction materials and products meet the relevant Malaysian Standards (MS) or equivalent international standards, such as BS, ASTM, or ISO—specified by CIDB for regulatory purposes under the Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (Amendment of Fourth Schedule) Order 2021.
The primary objective of PPS is to ensure that only high-quality, certified, and compliant materials are used in construction projects across Malaysia, thereby enhancing safety, performance, and long-term sustainability in the industry.
This certificate is issued to the manufacturer, trader, supplier and owner of scaffolding materials who makes a formal application of PPS by providing a valid product certification (for new scaffold system), inspection and test report (for used scaffold system) and other valid documents required by CIDB. It is valid for one year, subject to renewal and ongoing compliance.
The process to obtain PPS includes, but not limited to:
Submission of documentation and quality control procedures
Factory or material inspections
Product testing by an accredited laboratory
Continuous surveillance for the purpose of maintaining validity and compliance
